A gas accumulator 10 for the storage of biogas, comprising three gas-impermeable membranes, the first 12 of which at least partially defines a gas accumulation chamber 18 and the third 16 of which is attached to the second 14 by means of a gas-impermeable seal, such that the second 14 and third 16 membranes together define a gas-impermeable pressurisation chamber 20, as well as comprising means for pressurising said pressurisation chamber 20 and means 26 for anchoring the gas accumulator 10 to a support surface 24, characterised in that the anchoring means 26 is configured to anchor only the second membrane 14 to the support surface 24. The anchoring means 26 may be a staple and there may be a layer 22 of non-pressurised air between the pressurisation 20 and accumulation 18 chambers. The volume in the accumulation chamber 18 may be detected by an ultrasound level detector. The first membrane 12 may be laminated and calendered PVC and the second membrane 14 may be polyester reinforced PVC. The accumulation chamber 18 may be dome shaped or cylindrical.
