<p>The subject invention is the use of fiber from Populus trees seeds for thermal and acoustic insulation and process for producing thermal and sound insulation materials. Materials for thermal and acoustic isolation according to the invention are the fibers in the form of hydrophobic oleofilic micro-tubes with an outside diameter of 8.74 micrometer and the average wall thickness of 500 nm, which are composed of cellulose, hemicelluloses, lignin and ash traces. Mechanical properties and its resistance to combustion of insulation material produced from the seeds of Populus tree species is improved by the addition of 8.26 wt. % to 96.66 wt. % of water glass. Produced insulating materials are natural materials and are minimal burden to the environment during production and during destruction after their use.</p> |
