PURPOSE: An air conditioner and a communication method for the same are provided for the smooth operation of the system by using a plurality of communication routes. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner comprises an indoor unit(100), an outdoor unit(200), a central control panel(300), and a communication unit. The outdoor unit operates the indoor unit by using a first signal. The central control panel controls the operation of the indoor unit and the outdoor unit by using a second signal separated with the first signal. The communication unit is communicated with the central control panel by using the second signal and uses the first and second signals for the communication between each outdoor unit.
