PURPOSE: A display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to obtain a high aperture ratio and reduce defects during processes. CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor pattern(130) is overlapped with a gate electrode. A drain electrode(142) covers the semiconductor pattern which is placed on an area corresponding to one side of the gate electrode. The drain electrode connects a first segment with a second segment. A source electrode(144) covers the semiconductor pattern which is placed on an area corresponding to the other side of the gate electrode. A storage electrode(146) is overlapped with the data line.
