The gantry (1) has a cross-piece (3) carried by a post (2). The cross-piece is carried by a carriage guided in translation along a longitudinal axis of the post. An elastic unit exerts forces, on the carriage, sufficient for moving the cross-piece towards upwardly. A compressing unit compresses the elastic unit for moving the cross-piece towards downwardly. The elastic unit is formed of springs mounted in parallel. The compressing unit is a cable that is rolled up on a motorized winch (10).
