The gantry has a movable cross-piece (3) carried by a single post. The cross-piece is carried by a carriage (5) guided in translation along a longitudinal axis of an upright. A hinge (11) is arranged between the cross-piece and the carriage, where the hinge has an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the upright. Rotation of the cross-piece is limited by an elastic return unit or friction unit i.e. spring (20), exerting force opposite to the rotation of the cross-piece. An elastic unit e.g. spring, exerts force in an upward direction to move the cross-piece in an upward manner.
