A beta 1-42 specific monoclonal antibodies with therapeutic properties

Provided is an antibody including any functional parts thereof, which antibody recognizes and binds to an epitope of beta-amyloid (A-beta) protein and which comprises the light chain variable region complementarity determining regions (CDRs) and the heavy chain variable region CDRs of the antibody produced by hybridoma cell line FP 12H3-C2, deposited on December 1, 2005 as DSM ACC2750, as well as related other deposited hybridoma cell lines. Further provided are the CDR containing heavy and light chain amino acid sequences and nucleotide sequences corresponding to the claimed antibodies. The antibodies can be used in diagnosis and treatment of amyloidosis.
