The method involves forming a database (MDB) of mobile terminals (TD1-TD3) for receiving push type notifications. The mobile terminals that receive push type notifications, are selected, and the push type notifications containing promotional content i.e. discount coupon, are addressed to the selected mobile terminals. A set of mobile terminals that does not receive the push type notifications, is selected, and a short message service (SMS) type message is sent to other mobile terminals. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a promotional content distribution system (2) a server comprising a processor (3) a computer program comprising instructions for performing a method for distributing promotional content to a set of mobile terminals during a campaign.
