摘要 PURPOSE: A device for determining the distance between axes of an optical disk drive and a method thereof are provided to simply and quickly determine whether the distance between a lead screw rotated by a sled motor and a guide axis which moves an optical pickup straight is uniform based on a shift degree of an objective lens. CONSTITUTION: A tracking servo unit(58) performs a tracking servo operation. A motor driving unit(57) performs a sled servo operation. A controller(60) calculates a shift degree of an objective lens deviating from the center of an actuator of an optical pickup during the tracking servo operation and the sled servo operation. The controller determines whether the distance between a lead screw and a guide axis is uniform. The lead screw is installed on a pickup base.
