Disclosed is a lighting apparatus (10) with a lighting component which is designed to be releasably mounted to a mounting structure (14) to facilitate simple installation and maintenance. The lighting apparatus includes a lighting component which contains a light source, a plate (66), and a frame. The lighting component has at least one engagement flange (62) with a window (76) designed to engage with a tab (77). The lighting apparatus further has a mounting structure which the lighting component can be releasably attached to by engaging one or more tabs on the mounting structure with the tab engaging windows of the lighting structure.
