PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a removal rate of cobalt in a method for preparing a refined nickel solution from a nickel salt containing impurities.

SOLUTION: The method for preparing a refined nickel solution includes: a step of dissolving the nickel salt containing phosphorus compounds and cobalt components as impurities, with an inorganic acid to form a nickel solution containing the phosphorus compounds and the cobalt components; a dephosphorization step of adding an oxidizing agent to the nickel solution to precipitate the phosphorus compounds as a phosphate and then removing the phosphate by solid-liquid separation; and a cobalt removing step of adding an oxidizing agent to the nickel solution after or at the same time of the dephosphorization step, to oxidize the cobalt components, and then neutralizing the cobalt components for precipitation, and removing the cobalt components by solid-liquid separation.
