<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device whose effect setting for changing an image to be displayed is easy in slide show display. <P>SOLUTION: An image display device comprises: a first storage medium which stores a plurality of image data; display means for displaying an image shown by the image data stored in the first storage medium; control means for controlling the display means so that the display means continuously displays the plurality of image data stored in the first storage medium and displays any of a plurality of display effects when the image to be displayed is changed; and receiving means for receiving a mode selection instruction. All or some of the plurality of display effects are classified into all or some of a plurality of groups.
