<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cutting of a light channel steel, which is wide in an application range, and in which each flange can be inexpensively and safely prevented from expansion during cutting due to the effect of residual stress during cold roll forming. <P>SOLUTION: A pressure receiving member 21 is moved in a press direction X1 by a predetermined amount and both correcting molds 15, 16 are driven in an expansion correction direction Z1, Z2 in a half shearing process [Fig.4(b)]. Both flanges are half cut while correcting the expansion of both flanges 52, 53. The pressure receiving member 21 is further moved in the press direction X1 and is brought into abutment with an opposed surface 14a of the body 10 of a movable edge block 4 in a complete shearing process [Fig.4(c)]. The whole body of the movable edge block 4 integrally moves in an oblique direction Z1 by the operation of guide blocks 5, 6.
