<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a rare earth magnet, capable of increasing magnetic flux density and simultaneously increasing coercivity by actively utilizing hot plastic working for the crystalline orientation of a rare earth magnet. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for producing a rare earth magnet, powder of a rare earth magnet material having a composition of R-T-B (R: a rare earth element, and T: Fe or Fe+Co) is added with a fluoride of metal or an alloy to be mixed, the obtained mixed powder is subjected to a formation process to form a bulk body, and then hot plastic working is performed. A content of R is adjusted to 28-33% by mass, and the hot plastic working is performed at 550-800°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
