<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wear-resistant coating system. <P>SOLUTION: The wear-resistant coating system (30) is suitable for protecting surfaces (26, 32) subjected to contact wear at high temperatures, such as surfaces (26, 32) of an assembly (20) including high-temperature components (22, 24) of gas turbine engines. The components (22, 24) have surfaces (26, 32) in wear contact with each other. One (26) of the surfaces has the wear-resistant coating system (30) thereon so as to be in wear contact with the surface (32) of the other component (24).
