<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor control device which is maximized in duty range enabling current detection while it is reduced in size, weight and cost and comprises a single current sensor, and an electric power steering device using the motor control device. <P>SOLUTION: A motor control device calculates each phase duty command value for controlling a current of a motor by control operation, forms a PWM waveform corresponding to each phase duty command value, and drives the motor by an inverter based on the PWM waveform. A single current detector is connected to the power supply input side or the power supply output side of the inverter. The motor control device has: a duty shift function to uniformly increase/decrease each phase duty command value while maintaining a difference between the phase command values; and a PWM output position change function to determine an output position of each phase PWM signal. Timing to turn on the PWM signal only in one phase or simultaneously in two phases is generated at a fixed position of a PWM cycle so as to detect the motor current. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
