<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for canceling a communication session. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus may transmit a first message to initiate a communication session and then transmit a second message that indicates a request to cancel the communication session. If the apparatus determines that there is an ongoing Packet Switched (PS) session, the apparatus may continue the ongoing PS session on a current Radio Access Technology (RAT) without performing an intersystem change.
