<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to fully learn an actual connection situation by checking an electrical connection state between a communication device and its partner device in operation and maintenance work of a communication system. <P>SOLUTION: An L2SW 10 of an embodiment comprises: a physical connection detection unit 20 for detecting whether a connector fixed to the tip of a communication cable is fitted into a port 12; an electrical connection detection unit 18 for detecting whether the present device and another device are electrically connected to each other by the contact of a pin between the connector and the port 12 if the connector is fitted into the port 12; and a connection situation indicating unit 24 for indicating the state that the device and the communication cable are physically connected to each other to the outside if a connection information holding unit 22 detects that the connector is fitted into the port 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
