<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an electrode plate for a paste type lead storage battery by filling paste-like active material excellently on the lower surface side of the electrode plate so as to prevent lattice-shaped inner ribs of a collector from being left exposed. <P>SOLUTION: An electrode plate is made by filling paste-like active material to a collector passing under a filling machine provided with a hopper accommodating the paste-like active material, and while the paste-like active material thus filled is still soft, the surface of the electrode plate is pressed during the transportation of the electrode plate. At this stage, a first press process for intensively pressing a first region on the electrode plate located on one side in the width direction of the electrode plate orthogonal to the transportation direction and the thickness direction of the electrode pate, a second press process for intensively pressing a second region on the electrode plate located on the other side in the width direction of the electrode plate, and a third press process for pressing all over the whole width direction of the electrode plate are to be performed at least one time, with the third press process being performed at the end of the whole press processes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
