<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record image data reproducible as continuous moving image of high image quality and a long time, while suppressing increase in data amount. <P>SOLUTION: A moving image recording apparatus determines as a no-change period an imaging period in which moving image data the feature amount of which changes less than a prescribed reference is outputted from imaging means for a prescribed period or longer, and designates as a recording period a partial period within the no-change period. With respect to the no-change period, only the moving image data outputted from the imaging means in the designated recording period is recorded in recording means as record data. The recording apparatus generates reproduction time information for designating a reproduction time in the case of reproducing the record data, to a reproduction apparatus which reproduces record data corresponding to the no-change period.
