<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a flicker even when auxiliary light is used during live view (LV). <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus capable of imaging using a lighting device comprises: imaging means for imaging a subject to output an image signal; flicker detection means for performing flicker detection on the basis of the image signal outputted from the imaging means; and control means for controlling a state of the lighting device.
