MATTRESS DEFLATION MANAGEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patient support apparatus having an inflatable mattress whose size varies while moving to a bed-leaving position (a chair egress position) that is in a chair state.

SOLUTION: The patient support apparatus relatively moves a foot side deck portion with respect to a thigh deck portion by operation of a linear actuator and forms an angle 102 where surfaces of the thigh deck portion and the foot side deck portion are variable. A bladder assembly 34 of the thigh side portion and a bladder assembly 32 of the foot side portion deflate in a transition of a hospital bed from a vertical bed position into the bed-leaving position that is in the chair state.
