PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus wherein an objective directory can be selected by a simple operation regardless of the kinds of a storage place.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a print setting reflecting section for reflecting print history on print setting information set in the image forming apparatus; a setting state acquisition section for acquiring a setting state in a main unit of the image forming apparatus; a determining section for determining whether print reflected by the print setting reflecting section can be performed or not in the setting state acquired by the setting state acquiring section; and an operation manual outputting section for outputting an operation manual capable of changing the setting state so as to perform the print reflected by the print setting reflecting section when the print is determined impossible by the determining section.
