A video communication method and terminal are disclosed in the present invention. The method includes: through respective Bluetooth modules, an initiator terminal and a receiver terminal performing video communication establish a Bluetooth wireless communication link between the initiator terminal and the receiver terminal; multimedia information is transmitted between the initiator terminal and the receiver terminal through the established Bluetooth wireless communication link to realize video communication. The method organically integrates the Bluetooth technique with the low speed rate audio/video coding-decoding technique, and has the characteristic of versatile networking and the capability of performing transmission through a low bandwidth channel. |
