<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin type illumination device, and a showcase using the same, capable of uniformly illuminating a translucent shade positioned in front from a rear surface and efficiently illuminating an object for illumination located below. <P>SOLUTION: An illumination unit 2A illuminates the translucent shade 3 located in front thereof as a backlight, and at the same time, illuminates an object for illumination located below. A translucent light guide plate 23 guides light incident from a top end face 23a to a lower-part emission face 23d by total reflection at a front face 23b at a side opposed to the shade 3 and a rear face 23c at its rear side. A plurality of LED light sources 21 are sporadically arrayed along a length direction of the rectangular top end face 23a to emit light incident to the top end face 23a. A plurality of diffusion dots for diffusing the incident light are provided at least at either the front face 23b or the rear face 23c, and the shade 3 is illuminated with light diffused by the diffusion dots and the illumination object is illuminated with light emitted from the lower-part emission face 23d of the light guide plate 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
