<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly activate an indoor unit of a lower floor during warming even when a plurality of indoor units is connected to an outdoor unit and there is a level difference between the installing positions of the indoor units. <P>SOLUTION: The air conditioner is configured such that an outdoor unit 10 including at least one outdoor machine 9 having a compressor 11 and an outdoor heat exchanger 14 and a plurality of indoor units 45 each including at least one indoor machine 40 having an indoor heat exchanger 41 are connected in parallel, and the plurality of indoor units are respectively arranged on different floors of a building including a plurality of floors and on floors equal to or lower the floor having the outdoor unit.
