<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance device and liquid ejection apparatus that can suppress clogging from occurring in a liquid receiving member when liquid containing particulates are discharged from a liquid ejection head and received by the liquid receiving member. <P>SOLUTION: The maintenance device includes: a cap 24 with an opening S1 for receiving ink ejected from a recording head 19 that can eject the ink containing the electrostatic particulates; and electrodes 41, 43 that are located inside an opening 24b in the cap 24 and generate an electric field as a result of application of voltage to the particulates included in the ink received inside the cap 24 via the opening 24b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
