<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knock-type mechanical pencil capable of writing even in the case of writing by pressing a short lead 8 which is not held by a chuck 7 with a next lead 8 without rotating or bounding the short lead 8. <P>SOLUTION: A fastener 5 is connected to a lead tank 4 longitudinally slidably provided in a shaft cylinder 2. The fastener 5 is biased longitudinally rearward by a return spring 6. A chuck 7 which is longitudinally movable a certain distance and biased longitudinally rearward by a coil spring 13 is received by the shaft cylinder 2. The chuck 7 is closed by pressing the fastener 5 against a head 7B of the chuck 7, thereby holding the lead 8. Furthermore, a lead holder 10 is provided at the front of a tip member 9 connected to the shaft cylinder 2 to hold the lead 8 by an appropriate force. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
