The pump (10) has a pump casing (12) for forming a receiving space (16) for a portion of a compression unit (18) i.e. piston pump. A cylinder (14) is provided with a compression chamber (22) for a piston (20) of the compression unit and connected with the pump casing. An inlet valve (30) e.g. non return valve, comprises a valve seat (32) and closable valve pistons (34) lying at the valve seat to open and/or to close the inlet valve. The valve seat of the inlet valve is pressed between the pump casing and the cylinder.
