The stator has cylindrical stator core comprising several grooves formed in the circumferential direction in lined up state. A stator winding is wound in the stator core, such that groove arrangement portions (43,43A,43B) of stator winding in radial direction of stator core are lined up and extending in the axial direction of stator core. Adjacent groove arrangement portions are located radially facing each other, such that surfaces are engaged in the radial direction of the stator core, and ends of the adjacent groove arrangement portions do not extend parallel to each other.
