<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give a user a feeling of reality so that the user feels as if a virtual object existed and moved in a real space. <P>SOLUTION: A moving object and a terrain object with portions having different heights are placed in a virtual space, and the moving object is controlled so as to move on the terrain object. An imaging unit images a real world image, and a position and posture of a marker in the real world image are detected. A virtual camera is placed in the virtual space according to the detection result, and the moving object and the terrain object are drawn on the basis of the virtual camera. At that time, the real world image obtained by the imaging unit is used as a texture of the terrain object.
