<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an appropriate image forming operation by managing provisional functionality of inhibiting the process of stopping an image forming operation when determining that a consumable supply has reached a predefined life to extend a period of performing the image forming operation so as to accurately manage an event of the consumable supply reaching the life if the extending process is not selected and also accurately manage an event of the consumable supply reaching an extended life if the extending process is selected. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes plural detection means, determination means, stoppage process means and extension setup means. The determination means determines whether a change amount of an indicator specified from among plural indicators has reached an extended life value different from a first life value set for the specified indicator if a process of extension is set by the extension setup means, and the stoppage process means stops an image forming operation when the determination means determines that the extended life value has been reached. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
