<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of charge by reducing the amount of communication during synchronization and data volume stored in an online storage service when expanding the storage capacity of a file server by using the online storage service. <P>SOLUTION: In a kernel module mounting a storage area of an online storage service, a file is managed by being divided into block files. For a block which overlaps an already registered and stored block file group, only configuration information for the file is changed, without uploading it.
