<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus detector of an external measuring AF system capable of obtaining distance measurement results that can be efficiently used for a hybrid AF system while reducing costs required for parallax correction. <P>SOLUTION: If a focal distance of an imaging optical system is longer than a predetermined focal distance, one distance measurement area is set in a region of a pair of line sensors corresponding to the center of a visual field of the imaging optical system (S205), while if the focal distance of the imaging optical system is shorter than the predetermined focal distance, plural distance measurement areas with a predetermined size and position are set in the pair of line sensors (S206). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
