<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve tension around a lower edge of an airbag to improve an effect of preventing an occupant from being thrown out, and to improve utilization efficiency of fabric for manufacturing the airbag. <P>SOLUTION: This curtain airbag device includes: an airbag that can be inflated and deployed; and an inflator for supplying inflation gas to the airbag. The airbag includes: a chamber to be inflated by the inflation gas; a duct part extending in the longitudinal direction in the vicinity of an upper end to distribute the inflation gas to the chamber; and a gas introduction part which is connected to the duct part in the vicinity of the center at the upper end to guide inflation gas generated in the inflator to the duct part. An upper edge part of the duct part becomes higher than a lower end of the gas introduction part to form a recess at an upper edge of the airbag as a whole shape. Further, the airbag is configured to be rolled up in a roll shape or a zigzag shape from a lower end of the airbag upward to be compressed into a rod shape and to be curved so that the vicinity of the center projects upward to be mounted in the vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
