<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fiber-reinforced strand, which can produce a fiber-reinforced strand so that the cross section thereof has a shape as close to circular as possible. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a fiber-reinforced strand 1 includes: allowing a reinforcing fiber bundle 3 to pass through resin bath means 7 storing a melted thermoplastic resin 5 to form a resin-impregnated reinforcing fiber bundle 3; and then twisting the resin-impregnated reinforcing fiber bundle 3 on a downstream side. In the method, when the resin bath means 7 has an impregnation region 21 where the reinforcing fiber bundle 3 is impregnated with the thermoplastic resin 5, and a twisting region 22 where the resin-impregnated reinforcing fiber bundle 3 can be twisted, a twisting pitch P, with which the resin-impregnated reinforcing fiber bundle 3 is twisted over a distance L in the twisting region 22, satisfies L/3≥P≥3.15/90×(dtex)<SP POS="POST">1/2</SP>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
