<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking lock device which can enhance a suppression effect of unexpected vehicle action without using a hydraulic brake. <P>SOLUTION: A parking lock mechanism 7 can secure a time to check whether the parking lock mechanism 7 operates or not actually before unlocking by delaying the motion for the unlocking by an unlocking delay mechanism 30 so that it can determines a fail by the fail determining function of an ACT controller 8 before unlocking.
