<p>The invention extracts even minute hemorrhages in the small bowel with good sensitivity and easily detects the presence or absence of hemorrhaging in patients with hemorrhaging of unknown origin. Provided is an in vivo examination apparatus (1) with an illuminating part (2) that emits two kinds of illumination light of differing wavelength bands and an image pickup unit (3) that has sensitivity to the respective wavelength bands of the two kinds of illumination light from the illumination unit (2), wherein: blood and background tissue have a higher reflectance than a prescribed threshold value in illumination light of a first wavelength band from the illumination unit (2); blood has a reflectance lower than the threshold in illumination light of a second wavelength band; and the condition (R1b/R1a) > (R2b/R2a) is satisfied. Here, R1a is the reflectance of background tissue in illumination light of the first wavelength band, R1b is the reflectance of blood in illumination light of the first wavelength band, R2a is the reflectance of background tissue in illumination light of the second wavelength band, and R2b is the reflectance of blood in illumination light of the second wavelength band.</p> |
