摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize in a simple pixel configuration a liquid crystal display device that can accomplish in parallel writing of image signals and displaying by a field sequential formula. <P>SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display device having a simple pixel configuration, following the writing of image signals addressed to pixels arranged on a specific row, image signals addressed to pixels arranged on another row isolated from the specific row are written in. As a result in this liquid crystal display device, instead of writing image signals and turning on backlight sequentially over the whole pixel part, it is possible to sequentially write image signals into and turn on backlight in each specified area in the pixel part.
