<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a virtual image capable of giving a user the feeling of being and watching a movie at the best seat in a movie theater. <P>SOLUTION: A wide viewing angle optical system 31L is arranged at a distance of 25 mm ahead of a pupil, and a display panel 18L positioned further ahead of the wide viewing angle optical system 31L has a size of an effective pixel range of about 0.7 inches. The wide viewing angle optical system 31L images a virtual image of about 750 inches on a retina at a distance of 20 meters ahead of the user's pupil. It corresponds to 45.09 degrees in a horizontal viewing angle of a display image. In an arrangement example shown in Figure 6, the display image of the display panel 18L is enlarged 1,000 times or more by the wide viewing angle optical system 31L and a virtual image is imaged on a retina. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
