EYELID MARGIN WIPES COMPRISING CHEMICAL MEANS FOR TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eyelid margin wipe comprising a chemical means for adjusting the temperature of the wipe relative to the ambient temperature and being particularly useful for treatment of disorders of the eyelid or eyelid margin such as meibomian gland dysfunction.

SOLUTION: The wipe 1 is formed in a circular shape and formed in a laminar structure. These existing layers include a porous outer layer 2, a layer 3 impregnated with cleaning agent, and a heat generating layer 4 including a material generating heat when exposed to air or water. The layer is optionally lined with the heat reflecting layer 5 directing the heat radiated from the heat generating layer 4 to the outer layer 2. These layers are generally supported a cloth-like holding layer 6 and an outer layer for user to hold with his hands is formed. The periphery of a fringe part is sealed generally in the wipe 1. The periphery of the fringe part can include only the porous layer 2 and the holding layer 6 connected together.
