<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light irradiation unit composed of ultraviolet and fluorescent lamps mutually differing in emission wavelength range and placed side by side, which does not emit light in a wavelength range concerned with a fluorescent lamp whose lighting is not desired but happened to have its phosphor excited, and which can emit light in a wavelength range concerned with an ultraviolet lamp whose lighting is desired. <P>SOLUTION: The light irradiation unit is composed of a rod-like ultraviolet lamp and a rod-like fluorescent lamp which are juxtaposed so as to extend in the same direction, the ultraviolet and the fluorescent lamps mutually differing in emission wavelength range, which are characterized in that the fluorescent lamp includes a luminous tube made of a material which does not transmit light in a wavelength range emitted from the ultraviolet lamp. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
