<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device that dispenses with a high voltage capacitor adapted for a high voltage supplied to start a discharge lamp. <P>SOLUTION: The discharge lamp lighting device comprises: a DC voltage input terminal CN1; a voltage conversion circuit 2; an inverter circuit 3; and a control circuit 4. The inverter circuit 3 has: a plurality of switching elements Q1-Q4 controlled on/off by the control circuit 4 to convert an input voltage stepped up/down by the voltage conversion circuit 2 to an AC voltage; a first step-up transformer L1 connected to one end of a discharge lamp 30 to step up the AC voltage converted by the switching elements Q1-Q4; a second step-up transformer L2 connected to the other end of the discharge lamp 30 to step up the AC voltage converted by the switching elements Q1-Q4; and a resonant capacitor C1 connecting an intermediate tap α of the first step-up transformer L1 and an intermediate tap ε of the second step-up transformer L2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
