<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector in which various plug security systems can be constructed by allowing the pull-out of an optical connector plug only after a responsible person performs an operation of unlocking a key and forbidding persons other than the responsible persons of respective departments from pulling out the optical connector plug. <P>SOLUTION: The optical connector includes a lock plate 21 for preventing the axial movement of a knob 18 with respect to a plug frame 12. The lock plate 21 includes a grip arm portion 21a externally fitted around a stop ring 14, an elastic plate portion 21b extending from the grip arm portion 21a along the axial direction, and an engagement part 22 orthogonally outward protruding with respect to the axial direction from the tip end of the elastic plate portion 21b.
