<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable capable of increasing the number of coated optical fibers without increasing the size of the optical cable. <P>SOLUTION: A cross section of an outer coating 15 of an optical cable 10 has a rectangular shape including first and second sides 14a parallel to each other and third and fourth sides 14b vertical to the first and second sides 14a and parallel to each other. The optical cable 10 is formed by arranging coated optical fibers 11 and tensile strength bodies 12a and 12b on a linear line 13 obliquely traversing short sides 18a or long sides 18b of a rectangular area 17 surrounded by four surfaces each including the first to fourth sides 14a and 14b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
