<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet delivering device and a paper sheet delivering method capable of reducing errors and stops of the device by preventing double feed. <P>SOLUTION: In a state that a prescribed area of a separation roller 5 is brought into contact with a bill 3b stored in contact with a bill 3a being an object to be delivered, a conveyance force is given to the bill 3a by a pickup roller 7. The delivered bill is detected by a thickness detection sensor 12. If the double feed is caused, the bill 3a is taken in a storage part 9, and the separation roller is rotated to change the area coming into contact with the bill 3b, and then the bill 3a is delivered again. When the bill 3a is delivered without causing the double feed, friction statuses of the surface of the bill 3a are detected by a friction detection sensor 27. A contact area of the separation roller 5 with the bill is set in accordance with the detected friction statuses, and the next bill is delivered after the contact area is set. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
