<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic valve device and a pressure adjustment valve that are configured such that foreign matter blocking a gap and products produced in the gap are caused to flow out together with primary pressure water that flows out through a valve during the pressure control of secondary pressurized water in a secondary conduit, thereby avoiding the occurrence in which a main valve cannot be closed. <P>SOLUTION: The pressure adjustment valve 500 comprises: a valve body 57 having a secondary pressure introducing chamber 58, a secondary pressure introducing port 59 configured to introduce a secondary pressure into the secondary pressure introducing chamber 58, a primary pressure introducing chamber 60, a primary pressure introducing port 61 configured to introduce a primary pressure into the primary pressure introducing chamber 60, and a valve body 64 and valve seat 66 configured to open or close the primary pressure introducing chamber with respect to the atmosphere; a valve drive mechanism configured to open the valve body 64 by separating the valve body 64 from the valve seat 66 when a secondary pressure in the secondary pressure introducing chamber 58 reaches a predetermined pressure and to close the valve body 64 by bringing the valve body 64 into contact with the valve seat 66 when the secondary pressure in the secondary pressure introducing chamber 58 is lower than the predetermined pressure. A groove 67 is formed in the valve seat 66.
