In order to minimize an increase in a delay of an outputted sound relative to an inputted sound when carrying out a hearing assistance process and a prescribed sound suppression process, as compared with a circumstance of carrying out only the hearing assistance process, a hearing aid comprises: a hearing assistance processing unit (12) which, by amplifying a first audio signal, which is collected with a microphone, according to the hearing ability of a user with regard to each of a plurality of frequencies, generates a second audio signal; a prescribed sound detection unit (13) which detects a prescribed sound which is included in the first audio signal and generates a control signal which denotes the timing of the occurrence of the prescribed sound; and a prescribed sound suppression unit (14) which suppresses the second audio signal which is generated by the hearing assistance processing unit at the timing of the occurrence of the prescribed sound which the control signal which is generated by the prescribed sound detection unit denotes. |
