The spring contact pin (1) has a head portion (4) that is axially slidably and rotatably guided in housing (2). A piston pin is located in housing and is bounced axially by spring element (14). A rotary device is provided for rotating the piston pin, by applying the return rotating force. The pin element is formed with a fork head (7) with inlet slopes or a latch head having chamfers. An independent claim is included for method for electrically contacting test specimen by spring contact pin.
