The spring unit (1) has a rotationally symmetric protective covering (9) formed with a flexible wall in a longitudinal direction of the spring unit. The covering is fastened at an external periphery of a pneumatic spring lid (3). The lid surrounds pneumatic spring rolling bellows (2) over a part of length. The protective covering with a lid-far end is fastened at the external periphery and outside an upper rolling region of the spring rolling bellows by a clamping ring (10). The clamping ring produces a circulating constriction (11) at the spring rolling bellows.
